The Jewellers Quarter - our new project in Daniel Village, Israel - is focused on fully utilizing the existing conditions on-site. The new building clusters are designed around unfinished concrete frames that were left from the 1990s, on which we add various lightweight construction and roofing from steel and wood. The resulting architecture is both local and sustainable, emphasising the industrial heritage of the place while maintaining the large trees on site.

The new building clusters enable flexible spaces with retail and craft, in a typology in which these programs overlap and change seamlessly when either additional areas for retail or craft are needed. The design allows visitors to wander the quarter for both shopping, recreation and cultural activities. Concrete silos on the edge of the site are transformed into a gallery for temporary exhibitions, which connects the main recreation axis with the outdoors event spaces.
