The Stephen B. Klein Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Technion

In progress

The new building for the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering is designed to meet the needs of Israel’s only faculty in the field, which has been growing continuously since its foundation in the 1950s. The faculty trains most of the aerospace engineers in Israel, and its graduates hold senior positions in the industry.

The building will include five levels of classrooms and offices for students, researchers, and academic staff, a floor of advanced aviation laboratories, and an underground parking level. Located between the faculty’s historic 1954 building overlooking the bay and more recent laboratories, it forms a new vibrant center for the faculty.

Drawing inspiration from aviation and space, the design captures the dynamic nature of flight through fluidity and lightness, expressed in sweeping forms and industrial materials.
