In progress

A space for the Damascus Jewry community – a place to become acquainted with the heritage of the Damascus community.
The Damascus (Shami Jews) Jewish community no longer exists. To ensure that its ancient heritage lives on, we are building a global center for the community where visitors will get to know the community’s story, culture, and members.
In 1966, a new synagogue was built on 3 Rosh Pina Street in Tel Aviv. It replaced the shack that had served as the community’s synagogue until then. The building is still used by the organization for various purposes and houses its offices. The building is located in the Neve Sha’anan neighborhood in south Tel Aviv. The neighborhood is part of the Shomron Project – a cultural and real estate complex – that is being advanced by the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality. The planned complex is scheduled to include a theater, multiplex cinema, dance center, and art-related events venue, in addition to public spaces.
